3b 2 Improved Hospitality Establishments (30 comments)
Need more restaurants. Need more restaurant choices - other than pizza or fast food burgers. More
variety!! Need better restaurants/options. More variety in restaurants - a Thai restaurant or
something different. Restaurant downtown not another bank. Plymouth needs more restaurants
(Taco Bell, Chick filet, South on the Border, Boston Market, Long John Silver) Better assortment of
restaurants not geared to college students. It would be nice to see a few nicer restaurant chains on
TMH like an Applebees instead of just fast food. The only restaurants in Plymouth are the fast food
variety. You have to go out of town for a median priced meal (Common Man is expensive & prices
are tuned to tourists) Better restaurants not so many pizza restaurants! More national restaurants,
i.e. Applebees. Just 1 good restaurant, expensive, rest are pizza places. Few more successful
family restaurants. (22)
Get a good coffee shop in town & soon.
Lack of quality hotels - Marriott, Hilton, etc.
Few lousy pizza places, more options like Predermans
The town needs more hotels, motels.
Prohibitive zoning regs for signs etc. are discouraging.
Better quality low to mid price restaurants such as Friendly, Applebees, etc.
Quality economic development.
Better development w/ S Main St to make it a continuous shopping street. Possibly making it an
open mall concept.
3b 3 Improved Sidewalks (67 comments)
Sidewalk to Hatch Plaza, up Highland. Sidewalk should continue past high school to Hannafords,
WalMart shopping areas. Lack of adequate walks on Tenney Mt. Highway from town poses threat
to health & safety of pedestrians. (16)
More! All streets should have walks. Sidewalks beyond downtown area. Need to be added to all
streets - have aging population & safety for children (15)
Sidewalks need attention - reconstruction, improvements, repairs, dangerously poor state of repair
& replace. (6)
I would like to see more sidewalks on Fairgrounds Rd. leading into town. I would like to see the
residents of Fairground RD have walking access to the downtown. The traffic on Fairgrounds Rd is
very fast & is heavy on days that recycling facility is open. It's impossible to walk on it. (4)
What sidewalks? Non-existent in many high traffic areas (2)
Some are very broken - hard to use a stroller. Unsafe too uneven & old (2).
Sidewalk on east side of the Common.
Do not like the brick walks
Don't like Cobblestone Crosswalks.
Safe, well-lighted walkways
University should build under road access on Highland
Some sidewalks in poor repair (Merrill St.) Use of existing sidewalks should be enforced esp. by
school children in winter conditions when cars can't stop.
There is a bit of foot traffic on Texas Hill (& might be more if it were safer) - a narrow sidewalk on
one side would be nice
Sidewalk downtown - used for local vendors what about a place to walk
Sidewalk plow destroys sidewalks & they don't get repaired (e.g. Wentworth St.)
Improve the Green Street east-west sidewalks
3b 3 Improved Sidewalks (continued)
Sidewalks are inconsistent & end suddenly! (should go to Hannafords)
Sidewalks in poor shape & lacking. Need down Highland Hill. Downtown sidewalks very nice.
Sidewalk on Langdon should extent past Fox Park
Needed on Langdon between Texas Hill intersection to Fox Park Apartments, needed from Hatch
Plaza to Deep River Inn area along Highland Street
Bumpy & not easy to recognize downtown
