Plymouth Survey Results October 2004 Appendix
Fix/build more sidewalks - try more salt
Better maintained & expanded, especially to Hatch Plaza & Fairgrounds Rd to town
Better & expanded sidewalks
Main Street sidewalk & road - poor condition
People need to be made to use crosswalks.
Provided they have curb cuts for wheel chairs
3b 4 Improved Health Services (3 comments)
Elderly denial too expensive
Help w/ dental costs. People who aren't fortunate enough to have dental insurance cannot go due to
such a high price. They have medical help at the hospital why not dentists?
Need an Urgent Care Facility to relieve Emergency Dept.
3b 5 Improved Entertainment (19 comments)
Something for teens/recreational area. More for adolescents. More entertainment for teens (3)
Better movie theater and movies. Movie theater is small, not enough parking. (3)
Get rid of Adelphia, find a better cable co.
Cable TV ever since they discontinued previous boxes, can't use VCR; new boxes lot more $$ &
can't get digital channels w/out paying for box, too. Would like to see Ch 56 return- didn't like
change to VT channels instead of Boston, resigned to it now
Movie theater, cable TV
Cable seems expensive
Movie theater needs more variety. Would like cable on Loon Lake Road.
More options for cable - better market for better service & prices
Cable TV is terrible. Prices go up, stations go down - service useless
I'd like to see another theater w/ more hours to choose from.
Cable needs improvement (no Red Sox, weather channel should be part of basic plan)
Would like options for cable reworked
Very limited shopping resources
Cable TV on Oak Ridge Rd.
Limited, though good Silver Arts
costly for some.
3b 6 Improved Parking (52 comments)
More, more, more - longer time. More downtown parking. Would like to see more but don't know
where you'd put it. Additional parking in the river area (10)
College students should be encouraged to use college-parking facilities & use shuttle or walk! PSU
should provide more on site parking. Require students to use campus parking. There is no
downtown parking when college is in. It should be available for other than college. Perennial
problem, we know. During PSU year, students shouldn't park on Main St & feed meters. Control
student PSU parking on Main Street! (7)
Parking garage owned by Town in central location. Garage would alleviate this problem. Maybe we
need a parking garage behind Rands. Need a parking garage - PSU should be major contributor (4)
Parking continues to be a problem & should be expanded. Facilities need to be improved. Get
creative on new spaces. (4)
Parking is always a problem, but probably not much more we can do. Limited downtown parking.
Limited parking. I avoid downtown for this reason & because of this, downtown, even more, seems
to belong to college (3)
Downtown becoming very congested. Traffic around Common. (2)
Time is not enough. 30-minute meter limit increased. (2)
Stop fighting this - use energies & time for other discussions.
Parking is dangerous & inadequate. Very dangerous & crowded. (2)
Municipal parking established. Need municipal free lot. (2)
Parking access
Downtown parking & unsightly Courthouse area.
I did not give permission for the parking enforcer to mark my tires!
