Plymouth Survey Results – October 2004 Appendix
3b 7 Improved Recreation (33 comments)
Need a town beach or pool.  We need a swimming area or agreement for a beach. Access to a lake
or nice river area, a swimming pool for the town. Town needs a public swimming area on lake or a
pool.  We live in lakes region & don't have a beach. Need a town beach or access to Loon Lake.
Beach on Pemi or Baker by Covered Bridge (13)
Would love to have a recreation center.  State of the art gym, health/rec center. (4)
But a walking path along the river downtown would "spruce up" the "backyards" of downtown
businesses. It is an eyesore along the river behind the mills.
There is a need for separate recreation facilities.
More things to do in town.
An extended bike path. A river walk, update Fox Park pool for possible use as a swimming pool.
More public land for parks.
Better advertised, more variety - wintertime indoor facilities!!
Pemi riverfront undeveloped/underutilized
Outside Plymouth opportunities are numerous. In Plymouth they are not. A park, bike path would be
great. A dog park to run dogs around.
We are the only town in the area without water access (a beach).
More xc ski trails & hiking trails
A lot of $ is spent on recreation trips for lads & being based in PES is difficult location & limited
activities are available. Thought should be given to reducing trips for a few years & possibly saving
$ to put towards town pool.
Fox Park trails should have blazes so kids can use them as practice for larger trails.
Wouldn't it be great if we had a town beach or public pool? Also a walking public trail/track would be
a boon for area residents & safer than walking along the roads In many areas.
Bicycle & walking paths
What recreation?
Recreation opportunities need to be enhanced for the kids in the area.
