1.  What are the major capital needs facing the community?
Major Capital Needs - Highest Priority:
Roads (81 comments - 45%)
Clean up mess on Main Street due to new bridge! Completion of Highland St & sidewalk. Continuing
improvement & maintenance of road system. Downtown bridge. Highland St Improvements.
Improve Green Street to bypass center of town. Improvement of pot-holed streets in need of being
repaved. Maintain "current" town roads, such as Pike Hill Road, which if usable would allow house
construction in areas that would greatly benefit the tax base without providing more congestion in
already built up areas. Maintain current town roads to areas that would open home developing -
adding tax revenue. Maintain road conditions and town services. Major road repair on Highland
Street. Major road repairs. Major road repairs and equipment. More user-friendly and safer
sidewalks. Passable roads (Highland St). Pave Sunrise Circle!!! Paving backside of Highland Street.

summer/winter. Safety - traffic lights at Langdon & Highland and Smith Bridge Road/ Tenney Mtn.
Sidewalks. South part of Main Street. Street/sidewalk improvement. Totally finishing the work done
on Highland Street. All surrounding towns people use this street. It's in bad repair. Upgrade the final
section of Highland Street. Wider roads. New bridge from downtown to I-93.
Public Safety Facility (35 comments – 19%)
Consolidate FD, PD & Hwy in one facility - 16 Reservoir Rd Minekello property w/ access to
Highland St!!! Fire & Police buildings need to be improved. Fire and police facility. Fire Dept. -
building renovations/additions. Fire safety building. Fire station. Fire station - every town in area has
a new station in the last 25 years - except Plymouth!!  It is an embarrassment and it is the only full
time dept. Fire station/public safety building. Freeze growth of police & fire depts. Improving the fire
dept. Municipal building (fire, police, etc.) New firehouse & police station. New fire station. New fire
station - new location. New police station. New police/fire station. New public safety building. New
public safety building. No opinion - not enough information, perhaps new public safety facility.
Police. Police & fire department, buildings & equipment. Police station - need new one. Police/fire
building. Proper funding & support of public safety services, hospitals, safety complex. Public safety

Every possible need is currently being taken case of as far as I can see. The money spent at Town
Meeting proves that. I really have no idea. Services. Removing WalMart. More jobs.
Bridge/waterfront development. The riverfront. I'm not sure. I wish you had listed current ideas being
discussed. Town equipment. Very important - clean up the latest environmental catastrophe in the
river. Did we ever replace the fire chief's truck? Update town equipment. Fire protection equipment.
Infrastructure - roads/streets/sewer, etc. Continue to put electrical & phone cables underground i.e.
downtown area. Don't know. I do not know enough about it to make an educated answer. Jobs.
Fairgrounds. More businesses to make jobs. Don't know. Not enough information.
Taxes (7 comments – 4%)
Lower taxes. Spend less - be more frugal by creative use of resources (Amherst did it). Taxable
commercial development. Keep taxes down. Lower property tax rate. More help from State on fire
trucks, road repairs & police - they use them often. Major addition of taxable property.
