Question VII - Major Capital Needs - Second Highest Priority:
Roads (45 comments - 39%)
Add Merrill St sidewalk w/ access to the grade school. Bridge at Livermore Falls. Bridge repairs.
Develop roads south end town. Equipment for road maintenance. Fix bumps on bridge on Rte 93 at
exit 26. Fix Highland Street. Green Street project. Highway garage. Improve roads & sidewalks.
Improvement of Green Street. Intersection of Green Street & Bridge St. Keeping the roads paved
and sealed. Light @ Highland & Reservoir (not sure if this would fall under CIP). Maintenance
roads. Major road repairs/sidewalk. Necessary equipment to maintain & repair on all town roads as
necessary. New highway facility. Paving with blacktop all town roads. Relocation of highway
department away from downtown/river. Road agent that cares about and takes care of the roads -
all seasons. Road improvements. Road maintenance and construction. Road repairs. Road
Services - Plows; trucks, sanding etc. Expansion requires additional vehicles! Road, sidewalks,
public building upgrade. Roads & traffic. Sidewalk to Hannaford. Streets & sidewalks. TMH needs
aesthetic design features. The shops have no character & there is no landscaping. For some, this
will be people's first & only view of Plymouth. We don't want to look like Tilton's shopping area.
Traffic light at intersection of Reservoir Rd & Highland St & old Wand Bridge Rd. Traffic light for Rte
25/smith Bridge Road intersection. Upgrade Green St. & the riverfront in conjunction with the new
bridge & intersection. Upkeep of roads/highway equipment.
Public Safety Facility (22 comments – 19%)
All town services i.e. (police, fire, highway, office) should be located at 1 complex. Expanded fire
station/ambulance (due to in line w/ commercial/business growth.) Fire & police needs (could a
storage tower be built to supply water for fire emergencies to Chiasson Rd area? Or a line
connected to town water?) Fire department. Fire facility & equipment. Fire station & police. Fire
truck. Fire/emergency. Fire/police building. Fire/police facility. Improve fire and police stations. Move
the highway dept. to new facility. New fire station. New police & fire station. New police/safety
complex. Police equipment (other than guns). Public safety complex. Public safety complex (police
& fire). Public works facility & equipment. Safety complex.
Other (17 comments – 15%)
Vehicles. Equipment. Computerize town records. Pressure university to ante up more bucks. Safety
equipment. New street cleaner. Equipment. New emergency vehicles & fire equipment. New
vehicles. Town clerks office cramped. Drive-by mail drop at a central, easily accessible site. Land &
building for people with Medical illnesses to hang out. A giant skateboarding park - skateboarding is
environmentally friendly, harmless fun, good for young people, etc. not a high priority, but a priority.
Dissolve PVWASD - incorporate into DPW - will save tens of thousands by reduction of useless
administration costs. Public buildings, common area. New or updated equipment for highway dept.

Parking (8 comments – 7%)
Parking facilities must be increase - last 5 yrs. Great loss of parking. Parking downtown. Parking
spots. Large, free, long-term parking lot near, but not on Main St. Parking garage. Additional parking
facility – downtown. Parking & traffic control by police department. Parking facilities to enhance
commercial development & keep businesses on Main Street.
Recreation (5 comments – 4%)
Community youth center. Community Center - as Plymouth grows the community is less connected,
a specific center/building would provide structure. Recreation facility. Outside pool or Town Beach.
Riverfront park -walkway, picnic area, etc.
